Ed spill the beans what is the benefit of joining NEKF. What are the tourny fees and what is the discount for members?

Supporting Member: A nominal $25 membership contribution, each person who contributes NEKF will be entitled to:

1) Voting rights for officers at the yearly membership meeting. NEKF will have elected officers, voted in only by members. Two consecutive years of membership is a prerequisite to be elected to an office or to hold a position on the NEKF Board of Directors.

2) Access to a forum where donating members will be able to access our financial reports, announcements of business aspects of NEKF, advanced announcements of events, special contests, discussion and nominations for future elections and possibly a way to vote in future elections or items that require membership votes.

3) NEKF Member Sticker

4) Basic supporting member rank image near your avatar on forum posts.

5) $10 discount to the Mass Bay Striper Shootout and priority registration in case of a sell out.

6) The YakPack Card with discounts throughout New England on fishing and kayak supplies from various merchants. The discounts you receive will pay for your contribution.

Soooo since they have not started registration yet it would be wise to join for fear of a small number cap on the tournament . Then being stuck with the campsite that we all rushed to get. I understand you can cancel but there is a small fee for canceling. What was the cap for last year?

I think the cap last year at 135. I don't think they will turn anyone away.

they call it a donation minus the 10 bucks for shootout i will writeoff the 15bucks

alright, I was not able to post on this site the past few days. can someone tell me the reason for joining the NEKF, the only one that seems to make sense is a guarantee for a spot in the tourney. maybe i don't have all the facts, thanks darren

I usually take the 7am ferry out of Orient, makes for a nice trip, 40 minutes to Orient, 90 minutes on the ferry then about 2hrs of driving. Check-in, set-up campsite see who's in have some lunch and goooooooooo fishingggggggggggggg!

my confirmation came in too. locked in for site #57 (aug 12-16)

maybe some of you guys that have done the tourny before you can tell us how strict they are with their rules. like no ground fires allowed or public consumption of alcohol being prohibited and subject to a nonrefundable ejection from the park?

It looked like alot of consumption of alcohol last year.I didn't see any open fires at night though.
